Descrizione del Brevetto per Invenzione Industriale dal titolo: Description of the Patent for Industrial Invention entitled:

“Impianto per alcalinizzare acqua depurata attraverso un processo osmotico” "Plant to alkalize purified water through an osmotic process"

DESCRIZIONE PROVVISORIA PROVISIONAL DESCRIPTION

The present invention is located in the sector of domestic water treatment systems and, in particular, refers to a reverse osmosis system equipped with a diffusion system of ions through an exclusive addition of noble mineral salts which give the water an alkaline PH.

The systems for the treatment of water for domestic use, allow the purification of water, coming from the water distribution network, from chemical substances and pollutants of various kinds such as, for example, nitrates, bacteria, pesticides, chlorine and, in general , all that the water collects in crossing the canals and the iron, lead and eternit pipes of the aqueducts.

Dette sostanze inquinanti ed estranee, rendono l’acqua domestica poco adatta all’assunzione diretta e a determinati regimi alimentari. These polluting and foreign substances make domestic water unsuitable for direct intake and certain diets.

Among the currently known domestic water purification systems, the most recent and effective are those with reverse osmosis.

It is a filtering system that inversely exploits a natural principle of great importance in animal and plant physiology: that of osmosis.

On the basis of this principle, two liquids of different saline concentrations separated by a semipermeable membrane, i.e. with very small porosities through which water but not its solutes can pass, tend to balance naturally with the spontaneous flow of the less concentrated liquid towards the most concentrated.

Reverse osmosis systems work in a similar but inverted way: thanks to the pressure of the water mains, the liquid with a higher concentration of salts, i.e. the mains water, is forced through a semipermeable membrane (osmotic membrane) thus obtaining a permeate, i.e. a purified liquid, free of a high percentage of the substances originally present, including nitrates, phosphates, pesticides and heavy metals.

This process is able to guarantee the absolute bacteriological purity of the water, eliminating polluting particles of infinitesimal size. At the end of the purification process, two types of water exit the plant: the permeate that is supplied for use, and the waste, i.e. the water containing the substances retained by the osmotic membrane, which is obviously eliminated through the drain.

As is known, water purified through an osmotic process is poor in alkaline substances.

The purpose of the present invention is to alkalize a purified water, through an osmotic process, with a peristaltic pump that combines the water with an ionic solution that brings the PH of the water to PH 9.5.

The system is automated by a microcomputer that guarantees the functionality of the ionization system and controls its PH through a probe, the control system guarantees a minimum and a maximum threshold monitored continuously and indicating any information on the display. These and further objects are achieved by the domestic water treatment plant according to the present invention, which is described hereinafter, in a preferred non-limiting embodiment of further developments in the field of the patent, with the help of two tables of drawings attached illustrating the following figures:

Fig. 1 uno schema a blocchi dell’impianto; Fig. 1 a block diagram of the system;

Fig. 2 una vista dello schema idraulico dell’impianto. Fig. 2 a view of the hydraulic diagram of the system.

The system must be connected as a simple purifier to the domestic water network; a first microfiltration system removes all suspended particles and chlorine from the incoming water.

Through a vane pump, the micro-filtered water is pushed with a pressure of 12 bar into an osmotic group consisting of semi-permeable TFC membranes with a porosity of 0.001 microns; the water, therefore, is split into concentrate and permeated; the concentrate is water saturated with salts, which must therefore be eliminated, while the permeate is characterized by a water with a very low saline base, therefore with low mineral content. The permeate finally passes through a silver-plated composite carbon filter for bactericidal ration. The water leaving the filter, thanks to a mixture of mineral salts with microfiltered water, reaches a saline cut of 50 ppm.

After the silver filter, the water passes into a collector where the PH transformation takes place through the mixing of the alkaline concentrate injected by the peristaltic pump. A PH reading probe is positioned in the collector which constantly monitors the PH keeping it at a fixed value of 9.5.

The system provides a two-way tap on the sink for drawing the two distinct waters.
