Abstract

Mechanical fuel pump for internal combustion engines. 2.1. Fuel pumps of this type are driven by the internal combustion engine. In a known fuel pump with membrane and piston it must be ensured that the presence of bubbles of vapor and air in the fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine is excluded. However, this pump only works with significant pressure fluctuations. 2.2. The new fuel pump, on the other hand, has characteristics consisting in the fact that the piston pump has on both sides of a piston part (21) working chambers (41, 42), which have a ratio between the supply volumes of about 2 : 1, due to the fact that the larger working chamber (41) feeds through a pressure valve (49) into a cavity (45), which is connected directly with the smaller working chamber (42) and through another valve of pressure (50) with a pressure fitting (48) which is a consumer.
