Abstract
In the ratio change appts. when a switch is actuated to select an axle ratio, power is applied to one side of the armature of DC motor (41). The switch is connected in series with several steering diodes between a power source and the motor armature. Power is also applied as a ratio change signal to a timing circuit. A first device is responsive to the ratio change signal for generating a first control signal for a first predetermined time. At the termination of the first control signal, the timing circuit generates a second control signal for a second predetermined time, after which the other side of the motor armature is connected to ground thereby actuating the motor. The second predetermined time is greater than the time required to change the axle ratio and less than the potential burnout time of the motor.
