Abstract

The present invention relates to etherified hydroxy-benzodiheterocyclic compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which alk denotes vicinal alkylene containing 2 or 3 carbon atoms and acid addition salts thereof and processes for the manufacture of these compounds and also pharmaceutical formulations containing compounds of the formula or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts. These new compounds display valuable pharmacological properties, in particular strong and long- lasting, cardio-selective beta-receptor- blocking activity and also alpha- receptor-blocking activity and can be used, e.g., for the treatment of disorders of the cardiac rhythme and coronary heart diseases and also as hypotensive agents.
