Abstract

1499131 Lubricating W GRUTTER 2 Jan 1975 [8 Jan 1974] 9/75 Heading F2A [Also in Division B1] An airline lubricator comprises a lubricant container 1 through which passes an air flow pipe 2 having a restriction the pressure drop across which is used to pressurize the lubicant supply, there being adjustable control valves in both air and lubircant flows. As shown the restriction is a restricted passage or venturi 5, the upstream side of which is connected to the space over the lubricant bypipe 6, passages 9, 22, 32, valve 30, 31, and passages 26, 33, 23, 12. The lubricant is thus forced up pipe 8 and through passages 10, 25, valve 14, 24 and pipe 7 to the downstream side of the restriction where it is atomized. The valves 30, 31 and 14, 24 are adjustable by means of knob 28 and lever 18 respectively. In another embodiment; see Figs. 2-8 (not shown) the restriction is an aperture (5a) between the air supply pipe (2a) and a delivery pipe (2b) branched off it, and the adjustable valve in the air supply is an adjustable pressure relief valve.
