Abstract

1347054 Drying particles TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO KK 16 July 1971 [17 July 1970] 33570/71 Heading F4G Granular or crystalline particles are dried in a chamber 10, air from a source A being heated at station B then entering the chamber 10 via inlet 18 and a distributer 22. The particles are continuously stirred by blades 13 which rotate at a speed not more than 40 r.p.m., the blades 13 having their longitudinal planes tilted within the range 20 to 45 degrees about the horizontal axis in alternate senses so as to facilitate shearing. The shearing is further improved by baffles 25. In a modification, three driers are placed in side by side relationship, a particle outlet 20 being an inlet for the next chamber 10. In a further modification, the chamber 10 is extended vertically, partially dried particles falling through an aperture in the distributer 22, into a lower drying section.
