Abstract

1,179,997. Multi-hulled sea-going vessel. SEASAFE TRANSPORT A.B. 2 Dec., 1968 [8 Dec., 1967], No. 56996/68. Headings B7A, B7M and B7V. A sea-going vessel comprising two or more hulls 1, 2 connected by a deck or decks has under the lowermost deck 3, at least at the prow 12 of the vessel, one or more wave-breaking and wave action damping means 4 extending below the water line and having openings 6 for capturing water thrown against said means by motion of the sea and/or the vessel, which water passes aft through passages 8 in throughflow members 7 which form a keel-like structure along the length of the vessel. Said structure 7 is situated, aft of the damping means 4, above the water line and may have at its stern a damping means 5 similar to the forward means 4. There may be more than one structure 7. The passages 8 are provided with ejectors 11 to assist in ejecting the water at 10, thereby imparting a certain propelling force to the vessel. [GB1179997A]
