Description

MODULAR DEVICE FOR PACKAGING HEAT-SENSITIVE PRODUCTS DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a modslar device fef the packaging of beat-sensitive (see US 6 286 972}.
The present Invention relates mote particularly to a device for the packaging of fresh or pbarmaceuiiosi products which are sensitive to uncontrolled temperature variations. These products have to be stored or transported: in stable temperature conditions, whatever the outer therms! en vironment.
Known: packaging devices comprise generally a tsermeiically sealed container of which the inner volume is maintained at a substantially constant temperature, optionally, through a double well carried out with: a heafeinsufating material.
However, these devices: do not allow the preservation of some products and, in particular, drugs (vaccines, hormones, therapeutic agents, insulin,..,) by maintaining tee temperature of the packaging within a very' narrow range, over a duration compatible with: the biological, chemical requirements andfer fee standards in effect and depending: m the logistic conditions. Typically for vaccines, the storage specifications impose a temperature comprised between 2’ and: 8°G during a minimal: period of 48ft.
Furthermore, these devices are prs-manufaetumd: Into specie formats and sizes and therefore do not authorize adaptation to variable capacities: depending on the quantity of products: to he handled.
The present: invention aims to resolve these technical problems in a satisfactory and effective way.
This aim is achieved according to the invention by means of a modular device for fee packaging of heat-sensitive products comprising: - a base provided with support members for a series of veriicaS structural elements, - each one of these structural elements comprising at least one side parrel formed of an inner well and an outer wall separated by a spacer forming between them m intermediate space. - reversible connection members for fastening said structural elements together to term: the peripheral envelope of seated storage compartment, - a series of removable thermal barrier effect cooing elements, - a cover intended1 to be mounted on said compartment, characterized in teat it includes; - attachment members for fixing said cooling elements In said compartment and in the intermediate space of tee structural: elements.

The device of the invention allows giving a hermetically modular container, satisfying the most severe requirements for the packaging of highly heat-sensitive products and: according to variables formats by choosing the number and dimensions of different structural elements to be assembled.
This device allows; adjusting very accurately the temperature conditions in the storage compartment to the specifications of the product and ensures maintaining; and controlling these conditions overtime.
The product is thus preserved: from outer thermal influences by being confined and insulated in the storage compartment.

These prooucts have to be preserved at a relatively low temperature generally comprised between 1°C and 1Q°C, However, these products m conveyed from s production plant or a laboratory to a place of use (consumption or therapeutic administration), by being likely to be .stored (sometimes for many hews), ready for delivery, in an environment where the potentials heat Inputs are important.
During this period, the products must absolutely he protected from any degradation or denaturation detrimental to the quality of the products which would be caused, in particular, by a temperature rise -or uncostraited or accidental excursion, outside the required range.

The device comprises, furthermore, at least om front closure element 4 and one bach closure element 5, intended to close the storage compartment R at the front and; the rear and/or the intermediate space 29 between wails 21, 22 when side access Is desired.
Assembling: these closure elements forms thus at the front and at the rear a double wail; substantially equivalent to the one formed in the previously defined side structural elements;.

The closure elements 4, 5 comprise outer doors 42, 52 and, if necessary, independent inner doors 41, 51 and each one made, preferably, m one-piece.
