Abstract
Magneto-optical recording and reproducing devices have an electromagnet which reverses the magnetization of the magneto-optical layer of the magneto-optical disk in function of the bits to be stored. To ensure rapid and reliable reversal of the magnetic field, a capacitor (C), a series connection consisting of a diode (D1) and a first controllable switch (S1) and a series connection consisting of a coil (SP1) and a second controllable switch (S2) are connected in parallel and connected in parallel to a current source (Q). The controllable switches (S1, S2) are activated by a control circuit (G).
