998,395. Baling presses. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU ERNST THALMANN VEB. Aug. 21, 1963, No. 33123/63. Heading B5F. A baling press comprises a plurality of press cases 3, 4 rotatable about a central column 13, an hydraulic cylinder 16 for operating holding- down devices 5 and an hydraulically operated plunger 1 having a pressure gauge 2 in its supply line for controlling the pressure of the plunger and thus the bale weight. The holding down devices 5 are mounted on shafts 7 to which are fixed levers 15 carrying rollers 8 engaged in slides 9, 9A operated by the cylinders 16. A timer controls the filling of the case 3 by a filling device (not shown) and the operation of the plunger 1 and cylinders 16. Final compression is applied by a press table 12.
