In a soil-less plant cultivating process small plastics material rods 4 are used as a plant substrate. Peat moss or sphagnum may be added to the rods in a mixture ratio of 1 : 1. The young plants may be grown in pots moulded from small plastics material rods welded together and filled with loose rods.
