Abstract
A sulphur spray atomizer comprises a central guide rod 5 coaxially placed in an inner conduit 4 and having a spiral threading, each turn of which circumscribes rod 5, mounted in the annular space between 5 and 4, an inwardly extending orifice 7 at the end of inner conduit 4 and means to pass liquid sulphur between 5 and 4, an outer conduit 1 with a second spiral threading, each turn of which circumscribes the inner conduit 4, in the annular space between the inner and outer conduits, an outer orifice member 9 extending inwards from the end of the outer conduit, and means to pass a sulphur <PICT:0994109/C1/1> dispersion gas, e.g. air between the inner and outer conduits. The fluid streams are whirled by the spiral threadings, and a fine uniform spray of sulphur is produded at orifice 9. Rings 18 and 13 may be loosened to permit axial movements of rod 5 and conduit 4 respectively to clear any blockages of orifices 7 and 9.
