Abstract

993, 966. Agglutinated fibrous fabric. W. E. RAWSON Ltd. March 22, 1962 [Dec. 23, 1960], No. 44346/60. Heading D1R. In apparatus wherein a fibrous web 3 is laid by a camel back feeder 2 on, and transversly to the direction of motion of an endless lattice conveyer 1, frames 4 and 5 with means (e.g. nozzles) for supplying (e.g. spraying) bonding agent or foam to the web, are traversed independently of the feeder 2. The frames may traverse in phase with and at the same speed as the feeder 2 or the appropriate frame 4 or 5 may not begin its traverse until the lap has been laid. With this latter arrangement, the laying of flimsy webs is not disturbed by the spraying. Valves associated with the spray nozzles are arranged to be operated automatically as required. A single nozzle carrying frame may be used.
