Abstract
990,018. Toy animals. J. L. A. SEE. Feb. 10, 1964 [Feb. 11, 1963], No. 5423/64. Heading A6S. In a flexible pneumatic toy in the form of an animal the forward and rear members thereof can be spread elastically and rest on wheels which include means permitting motion only in one direction. The embodiment is an animal in the shape of a horse having wheels 10, 11 and 12, 13 mounted on the feet on transverse axles 8 and 9, respectively, which are coupled by a tensile link 16 to restrict the forward legs spreading more than a certain distance from the rear legs. The wheels 10 to 13, inclusive, are each fitted with a trailing wheel 15 which allow the said wheels 10 to 13 to move forward but join beneath the back of the wheels when tending to move backwards. Thus, when a child riding the animal moves up and down with normal riding motions, the back wheels 12, 13 move forward under the influence of link 16 when weight on the animal is relaxed, and the front wheels 10, 11 move forward when weight on the body is increased.
