Abstract
646,351. Toy horses &c. SEBEL, H. Feb. 25, 1944, No. 13882/43. [Classes 136 (ii) and 36 (iii)] [Also in Group XV] A wheeled vehicle for use as a toy or amusement device comprises a body 1, Fig. 1, mounted on three wheels two at the front and one at the rear. The two front wheels are carried by an axle 5 which is pivoted to the body at 4 and are provided with friction pawls 7 so that they can only rotate in a forward direction. The axle 5 is provided with foot-rests 8 and the body 1 with a saddle 2. The rider sitting on the saddle 2 with his feet on the rests 8 presses each foot alternately to cause the vehicle to move forward. Instead of a single rear wheel two rear wheels carried by another pivoted axle may be provided, in which case the front and rear axles are connected by one or two links. In another enibodiment, Fig. 4, only one front wheel 11 is -provided which wheel is connected by links 12, 10 to the rear axle 5. The rider by manually rocking a handle 13 connected to the link 10 causes oscillation of the rear axle 5 and forward motion of the vehicle. If a handle 14, instead of the handle 13, is provided the link 12 is omitted.
