[Also in Division B8] A packing container is made by introducing an outer shell of paper, cardboard, synthetic resin or metal into a mould, introducing a material to be foamed, e.g. polystyrene, polyurethane or rubber, into the mould and shaping it with a core during foaming. Where the shell is sufficiently rigid, the mould may be dispensed with. The shell may be coated with an adhesive or a mechanical bond may be obtained, e.g. by providing apertures in the shell.
