[Also in Division F4] In a pre-cooler 5 and intermediate cooler 6 for the two stages 3<SP>1</SP> and 3<SP>2</SP> of the compressor of a gas turbine plant, the gas turbine working medium to be cooled flows, as shown in Fig. 2, first through internally finned tubes 9 over which a medium to be used for heating purposes flows and then over externally finned tubes 10 through which a coolant, e.g. water, flows. The gas turbine working medium flows from the second stage 3<SP>2</SP> of the compressor to the inlet of the turbine 2 via a heat exchanger 4 in heat exchange relationship with the turbine outlet stream, and a heater 1.
