[Also in Division B8] A package cushioning device comprises an inner case support member 14 one or more torsion bar springs 17, 18, one portion of each of the torsion springs being anchored to the support member and another portion being pivotally received by the support member as by anchor bars 15, 16. A connecting member, e.g. spring extensions 19, 20, pivotally connects, as by plates 21, at least one of the torsion springs to the outer case whereby the support member is constrained to move in an arcuate path towards or away from the outer case.
