985,775. Sifting apparatus. WILLIAM BOULTON Ltd. June 28, 1962 [March 28, 1961], No. 11206/61. Heading B2H. In a gyratory separator in which a sifting element 36 and a brush carrier 28 are subjected to the vibratory motion of eccentrically disposed weights 19, 20 of a vertically disposed motor 17, the brush carrier is freely supported beneath the sifting element 36 on an inwardly projecting ledge, by rubber rings 29 provided with stud heads and the brushes 40 engage the under-surface of the sifting element 36 with a rotational movement imparted thereto by the vibratory motion. The ledge 26 is vertically adjustable by means of a pin and slot connection 24.
