984,448. Can carriers. PRINT PROCESSES SALES Ltd. Aug. 8, 1962 [Aug. 8, 1961], No. 28592/61. Heading A4G. [Also in Division B8] A carrier for one or more rimmed cylindical cans is made from a cardboard blank having five parallel folds comprising two folds B<SP>1</SP>, B<SP>2</SP> symmetrically in either side of a centre fold B, the panels A<SP>1</SP> adjacent on opposite sides of fold B are secured together e.g. by staples to form a double thickness panel through which is pierced a hand grip E while the next pair of symmetrical panels A<SP>2</SP> are folded outwards and the final pair of panels A<SP>3</SP> are folded downwards at B<SP>1</SP>, fold B<SP>1</SP> being interrupted by transverse cuts C<SP>1</SP> connecting longitudinal cuts C whereby slots are formed in the panels A<SP>3</SP> so that when the carrier is placed on top of e.g. three cans, their upper rims enter the slots and are held therein when the carrier is lifted by the hand grip. Transverse cuts D may be formed in panels A<SP>3</SP> whereby the panels give to the shape of the cylindrical cans and substantially the whole of the slots supports the rim.
