Abstract

983,942. Winding webs. DOMINION ENGINEERING WORKS Ltd. Feb. 13, 1963 [March 8, 1962], No. 5909/63. Heading B6B. A web winding machine of the two drum type has separate ejecting means for both large and smaller rolls, both means being actuated simultaneously. In one embodiment a large roll d is ejected by a roller 1 carried by arms 2 pivoted at 3 and actuated by fluid cylinders 4. Small rolls are ejected by arms 7 which pivot on the axis of drum 6. The arms 7 and 2 are connected by a tie-rod 8. The arms 7 may be used for lowering a core shaft a into a position between drums 5 and 6. In other embodiments, Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), the ejecting means are actuated through gearing or through a chain 8a, Fig. 8 (not shown).
