Abstract

981,129. Crane booms. JOHN ALLEN & SONS (OXFORD) Ltd. Sept. 11, 1963 [Oct. 5, 1962], No. 37885/62. Heading B8B. The boom 50 of a mobile rotary crane 2 on vehicle 3 is formed of two parts 4 and 6 separated by an extension piece 11. The extension piece 11 is formed of two parts 12 and 13, all the parts being connected together by pins. Each pin secures a lug to a clevis as shown. Additionally the lug and clevis 18<SP>1</SP>, 20<SP>1</SP> is provided with an additional pin H such that when all the other pins have been removed the two parts of the boom can pivot about the pin H so that the boom will fold so as to be accommodated on the vehicle.
