868,446. Shovelling machines. LIEBHERR, H. March 10, 1960 [March 12,1959], No. 8436/60. Class 68(1). The scoop 10 of an excavator is pivotally mounted on a pin 9 extending through the cross limbs 8 of a T-shaped member 7, 8 having a cylindrical shank 7 secured in a bore of complementary section in a shovel arm 6 by a pin 11. The pin 11 and the shank 7 allow of the shank being secured in the arm 6 in one of two positions spaced at 180 degrees to one another. This allows of conversion of the excavator from a face shovel excavator to a drag shovel excavator and vice-versa as required on removal of the pin 11 and on rotation of the scoop assembly through 180 degrees about the axis of the shank 7. Suitably positioned lugs on the scoop allow of the scoop being connected to the various actuating members of the excavator as required by the particular usage of the excavator.
