Abstract

979,088. Cigarette-making machines. ZAVODY V.I. LENINA PLZEN NARODNI PODNIK. March 14, 1963 [March 14, 1962], No. 10215/63. Heading A2C. Mechanism for transferring filter-tips after division into equal parts for combination with cigarette lengths comprises a grooved feed roller 3 for receiving quadruple length filter-tips, a cutter 4 for dividing the filter-tips into two double length filters, and two grooved transfer rollers 5 and 6 arranged to receive from the feed roller alternate double length filters and to transfer them in succession to a common grooved receiving roller 7 so that each groove in the roller 7 receives a double length filter, the spacing of the grooves in the roller 7 being double that of the spacing of the grooves in the feed roller 3. The double length filter-tips are aligned one behind the other by a guide member 9. The tips are held in the grooves of the transfer rollers 5 and 6 by guides 8 and the spacing of the grooves in the transfer rollers may be equal to that of the spacing of the grooves in the feed roller 1 or the roller 7 as indicated at 5<SP>1</SP> and 6<SP>1</SP>.
