Abstract
In the electroless nickel plating of an electrically conductive material, e.g. silicon, the material is immersed in a solution of palladium chloride and hydrofluoric acid, e.g. 160 milligrams and 40 millilitres respectively in 1 litre of water, prior to plating. The plating solution may comprise 30 grams of nickel chloride, 10 grams of sodium hypophosphate, 65 grams of diammonium hydrogen citrate, 50 grams of ammonium chloride, and sufficient ammonium hydroxide to turn the solution from green to blue.
