Abstract
Ball point pens and refills therefor contain an ink in paste form comprising a polar or non-polar dispersing medium having dispersed therein finely-divided aluminium, silver or copper, or an alloy or mixture thereof, in an amount of from 5 to 95% of the total weight of the ink. The metal may be in the form of flakes of from 5 to 15 microns. In examples, the medium comprises (1) sulphonated castor oil, polyglycol (M.W.400) and glycerol, (2) chlorinated coumarone resin, dioctyl phthalate and castor oil, and (3) coumarone resin and dioctyl phthalate. The ink may be introduced into the pen through the tip, and the ball thereafter inserted; preferably an annular gap of 1 x 10-3 to 2.5 x 10-3 cm. is left between the ball and the edge of the tip.ALSO:Ball point pens and refills therefor contain an ink in paste form comprising a polar or nonpolar dispersing medium having dispersed therein finely-divided aluminium, silver or copper, or an alloy or mixture thereof, in an amount of from 5 to 95% of the total weight of the ink.
