Abstract

972,013. Cartons. HOOVER Ltd. April 17, 1961 [April 22, 1960], No. 14282/60. Heading B8P. A carton or a cover therefor, is folded from the blank shown so that all outside surfaces are uninterrupted and are free from staples or tongue-and-slot connections. To assemble the carton or cover, flaps 14 are first folded up and four flaps 19, 20 are next folded up with flaps 20 lying inside flaps 19. T-shaped tabs 16, 17 are inserted through slots 30 and are folded against the inner flap 20 as shown in Fig. 2 with the edges of the T-shaped tabs engaged with the horizontal and vertical edges of a rectangular cut-out 31 in the flap 20. In an alternative embodiment, rectangular cut-outs are provided in all four flaps 19, 20 and are engaged by the T-shaped tabs. The tabs may be of L-shape.
