969,071. Viewing screens. BARR & STROUD Ltd. March 17, 1962, No, 10308/62. Heading G2J. An optical viewing system has a polished screen of translucent material extending at right angles to the optic axis of the system, the screen having optically deviating elements comprising ribs having plane sides and curved crests. As shown, the screen comprises a plate 10 having ribs 11, the crests 13 and troughs 14 having cylindrical surfaces and being joined by plane surfaces 12. The screen may be applied to a periscopic viewing system Figs 3, 4 (not shown).
