A clutch drive 16 has a torsional vibration damping means comprising balls 34 is sloping guideways 36 in at least one of the clutch disc halves 16, 26, the halves being resiliently urged together. The clutch disc half 16 is mounted on a roller bearing 14 on a hub 10 having splines 22, 24 engaged by axially slidable halves 26, 28. The disc 16 and the halves 26, 28 are resiliently urged towards the clutch disc 16 by star springs, or disc springs, to hold the balls 34 in kidneyshaped axially sloping recesses 36.
