Abstract

967,615. Artificial candles. K. G. RUTESIC. June 26, 1963 [Jan. 31, 1963], No. 4110/63. Heading F4T. An artificial candle comprises an elongated enamelled copper cylinder 10 containing paraffin 15 and a copper or brass wick tube 13 disposed within the cylinder 10 and brazed to an upper portion 12 which screws into the top of the cylinder, the upper end of the wick tube projecting beyond the upper portion 12 and having four apertures 17 therein. The wick tube is slotted longitudinally. The cylinder 10 has a cylindrical base 20 which fits into a standard candlestick, and a flange 21 which abuts the candlestick. A closure cap may be screwed on to the upper end of the wick tube 13. A polythene washer 22 is disposed between the upper portion 12 and the top of the cylinder 10. The wick is made from fibreglass.
