A tapered box 11, to which the lampholder of a wall lamp may be attached, has pins 14 which engage sockets 8 in a support 1 which has a tapered recess 10 into which the box 11 fits. The support 1 is screwed to the wall and has an opening 4 through which a connecting cable (not shown) may be passed.
