967,258. Refrigerators. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Oct. 20, 1960, No. 36015/60. Heading F4H. A domestic refrigerator comprises a deepfreeze compartment constructed as a drawer 5 slidably mounted in a separate pedestal unit 4 on which a cabinet 1 having a cold storage compartment 2 is mounted. The drawer 5 is cooled by a separate refrigerating system from that cooling the compartment 2 and the compressor 3<SP>1</SP> of the former system is rigidly mounted on the back of the drawer. The top of the drawer is closed by a plate 7 formed of thermally insulating transparent foils. In modifications the compressor 3<SP>1</SP> is mounted on the cabinet 1 or pedestal 4 and is connected to the drawer cooling coil by flexible pipes; alternatively the compressor 3<SP>1</SP> is omitted and the drawer coil connected to the compressor 3 of the cabinet.
