Abstract

966,058. Nutcrackers. BRADES SKELTON & TYZACK Ltd. July 26, 1963 [Aug. 2, 1962], No. 29643/62. Heading A4A. [Also in Divisions B4, B5, B8 and E2] A pair of scissors comprises blades 10, 11 each having means enabling it to be used for different purposes, the blade 10 being provided with a T-shaped stud which is insertable in a slot 18 formed in blade 11 to pivot the blades together and the stud being readily detachable from the slot to separate the blades from one another. The blade 11 is formed with teeth 22 so that it can be used separately as a saw and is also formed with a recess 23 for pruning trees. Blade 11 also has a projection 24 for opening crown corked bottles. Blade 10 can be used separately as a knife and the bow of this blade has a projection 25 for use as a screw driver and a portion 26 for use as a hammer. The inner sides of the shanks 12, 13 are formed with serrated edges so that when the shanks are pivoted together they can be used for opening screw caps of jars or containers or for cracking nuts.
