962,103. Bearings. TURBOMACHINES Ltd. Aug. 18, 1960 [July 23, 1959], No. 25389/59. Heading F2A. In a ball bearing, the inner race comprises a shaft 1; the outer race comprises a ring 3, which is rigidly fixed to a member 1a; and sets of balls 2 are positioned intermediate the inner and outer races and are spaced circumferentially and axially by a cage 4, the length of which allows axial " floating " thereof between endcovers 5, held by the ring 3. The balls may be retained in the cage by portions thereof. In a modification, one of the end-covers 5 is replaced by a shoulder of the shaft 1.
