Abstract

962,093. Spray carburetters. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES S.I.B.E. April 23, 1963 [May 2, 1962], No. 16000/63. Heading F1B. In a carburetter having a metering needle 4 actuated by a choke valve 3 which is opened in accordance with the air flow, the fuel nozzle 5 opens into a by-pass 19 leading from the space 10 between the choke valve 3 and throttle valve 2 to a point downstream of the valve 3, the by-pass 19 having a restricted outlet 21 and an unrestricted inlet 20 whereby the pressure in the by-pass is substantially the same as that in the space 10. The choke valve 3 may be an eccentric spring loaded flap valve as shown, or a suction-actuated piston. In a modification the by-pass 19 has an annular inlet extending around the chamber 10.
