Abstract

961,083. Controlling burners. ALADDIN INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 22, 1963 [June 1, 1962], No. 21203/62. Heading F4T. An electric control for a liquid fuel burner (not shown) comprises an electrically operated fuel valve 6, an electric motor 3 driving a fan 2 and a thermostatic switch 4 responsive to burner temperature and adapted to connect the fan motor 3 direct to the mains supply so that when a mains switch 1 is opened to shut off the fuel supply the fan continues to run until the burner temperature falls, whereby the thermostatic switch 4 then connects the fan motor to the mains supply through the mains switch 1. The control also includes a second thermostatic switch 5 operated by the same thermostat and adapted to switch off an igniter 7 and vaporizers 8 and to energize a heater 11 for a bimetallic thrust unit 11 adapted to increase the oil and air flows to the burner. A boiler thermostat 10 opens contact 12 to de-energize the heater 11 when the water reaches a predetermined temperature and consequently the burner reverts to low flame. The two switches 4, 5 may operate at different temperatures.
