961,002. Slide projectors. C. BRAUN, and W. BRAUN, [trading as CARL BRAUN CAMERAWERK]. March 21, 1963 [Jan. 4, 1963], No. 11285/63. Heading G2J. A slide projector has a magazine 3 movable in one direction by an electric motor 2 when a rotary transmission member 14 mounted on carrier 15 is moved into direct frictional contact with driving wheel 16 or in the opposite direction when the driving contact is made through an intermediate roller 28. Solenoid 18 is energises momentarily so that armature 19 operates through rod 20 and lever 21 to rotate carrier 15 about pivot 17 against the tension of spring 37 to allow sheel 14 to contact driving wheel 16. Alternatively, for reverse drive, solenoid 35 is used with armature 34, rod 33 and lever 32 pivoted at 22 to rotate carrier arm 29 anti-clockwise through spring 31 and move intermediate roller 28 pivotally mounted at 39 into contact with wheels 14 and 16. Levers 21, 32 engage in turn, and are retained by, catch 25 so that driving contact for reverse or forward motions is maintained. Wheel 14 then drives, through gear train 10, 11, 12, 13, the gear wheel 9 on which as eccentrically mounted push rod 7 pivoted at 8 and driving plunger 6 which in turn drives the slide plunger, not shown. Cam 38 on wheel 9 engages a toothed rack to advance or reverse magazine 3 according to the direction of rotation. After one revolution of wheel 9, end 41 of plunger 6 engages arm 26 and moves catch 25 to free lever 21 or 32 and so interrupt the driving contact of wheel 16. Fan 36 is driven by motor 2. Slide 3 may be moved manually by means of control knob 4.
