959,942. Fishing rod fittings. MODERN ARMS CO. Ltd. Feb. 1, 1963, No. 4216/63. Heading A1A. Means for securing a reel plate 4 to a fishing rod comprises a tube 1 having a fixed ring 2 and a movable ring 8 provided with a flange 10 adapted either to be engaged by two claw members 11 attached to a locking nut 7 or to engage it in an internal groove in the locking nut. To prevent rotation about the sleeve 1 the movable ring has a detent 12 engaging a longitudinal slot 13 in the sleeve. Both rings have lips 3, 9 to receive the reel plate 4. The flange 10 is made either by swaging the rim of the ring 8 or soldering a further ring to the ring 8.
