Abstract

958,559. Scraper conveyers. STAMICARBON N.V. Sept. 14, 1962 [Sept. 18, 1961], No. 35199/62. Heading B8A. Trough sections of a scraper conveyer are coupled by means of rope members 10 which are located in blocks 4 slotted at 5 to receive the rope members, the blocks being welded on to the side walls of . the sections. Enlargements 11 are swaged on to the rope ends to form stops which co-operate with the block 4 to prevent the trough sections from being pulled apart. The blocks at one end of each section have projections 6 which fit into recesses 8 in the blocks at the other end of the section. An extension 7 of the centre plate 3 of the section overlaps a downwardly off-set portion 9 provided at the end of the adjacent trough section. Strips 13 welded to the sections prevent the rope members from falling out of the blocks. Alternatively, retaining members may be screwed to the blocks. By making the slots 5 slope upwardly no retaining means is necessary.
