Abstract

956,634. Laundry machines. WILKINS & MITCHELL Ltd. April 10,1963 [April 24,1962], No. 15497/62. Heading D1A. [Also in Division F4] A laundry machine is provided with three retractable wheels. Two of the wheels 11 are mounted in forks 13 rigidly attached to a shaft 14 to one end of which is attached a lever 30. The other wheel 18 is of the castor type and is mounted on a support 21 pivoted at 22; to which support is pivoted one arm of a toggle 25 the other being rigidly connected to a shaft 23. The shaft 23 is rotated by a hand lever 26 rigidly attached thereto and the shaft 14 is rotated by a rod 29 connecting the hand lever 26 to the lever 30. Thus when the hand lever 26 is moved clockwise from the position shown the wheels are retracted and the machine is firmly seated on pads 32.
