Abstract

1,160,274. Washing machines. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 9 Dec., 1966 [22 Dec., 1965], No. 54375/65. Heading D1A. A washing machine rests, during operation, on two wheels 2A, 2B, and at least one foot 3A, 3B, a retractable wheel 4 being provided which lifts the machine off its foot or feet when it is to be moved. Wheels 2A, 2B may swivel and some or all of the wheels 2A, 2B and feet 3A, 3B may be adjustable in height e.g. support 3A. The shaft 7 of foot 6 slides in bushes 8, 9 in the base of the machine and an internal bracket 10 respectively. A spring 12 engages bracket 10 and a plate 11 secured on 'shaft 7 and clamping means 13 are provided.
