Abstract

956,188. Laminates. BANDAG Inc. April 30, 1962 [May 1, 1961], No. 16415/62. Heading BSN. [Also in Division B7] In retreading a worn rubber tyre with a preformed rubber tread strip 8 by vulcanization (see Division B7), preformed strips 9, 7 of cushion gum of uniform thickness, one of the strips 9, 7 containing a vulcanization agent and the other a vulcanization accelerator, are applied to the tread strip 8 before application thereof to the tyre. The tread strip 8 may itself be a laminate, and comprise (see Fig. 4) strips 11, 12 of rubber separated by a ply 13 of reinforcing metallic threads or parallel metal cords and a sheet 14 of cushion gum. U.S.A. Specification 2,976,910 is referred to.
