Abstract

955,171. Stoppers. UNILEVER Ltd. April 9, 1962 [April 10, 1961], No. 12873/61. Heading B8T. A stopper 1 of thermoplastic material, for a container, contains a pouring spout 5 and an air duct 6, the outlet orifices 9 and 8 respectively of which extend beyond the plane of a flange 3 which rests on the bottle neck. These orifices are sealed by a closure top 10 which is moulded integrally with the stopper and is removed by a cutting tool. An annular rim 14, provided on the upper surface of the flange 3, is interrupted at 16 to register with a non- drip lip 17; the upper edge of the rim lies in a plane which intersects the spout so that the cutting tool is guided by this edge. A snapon cap 19 may be provided to seal the stopper after the top 10 has been removed. In another embodiment, the annular rim slopes downwards from the non-drip lip to the diametrically opposite side of the rim and the air duct lies within the spout.
