Resilient annular packing means 7 of rubber or rubber-like material are arranged between an at least partially flat crown formed on the ball 4 opposite the pin 3 and a closure member 6 for the housing 1 to press a part-spherical peripheral bearing surface on the ball against a complementary seating in the housing and also to restrict rocking movement of the pin relative to the housing. A washer 8, preferably made from synthetic plastic may be placed between the packing means and the ball. The means 7 may be a washer or may have an internal cavity formed with stiffening ribs. In a modification a concentric extension is provided on the flattened crown of the ball, which projects into the annular packing means and is preferably surrounded by a synthetic plastic sleeve. The ball may seat in a lining 5 of plastics or sintered metal.
