Abstract

951,203. Recording. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENTS CORPORATION. July 21, 1961 [Aug. 31, 1960], No. 30023/60. Heading G1J. [Also in Division H4] Apparatus for recording the intensity of radiation from a body on a couch 3 comprises a scintillation counter 4 and a scaler 6 which causes a printer relay 7 to be operated after every n pulses applied thereto. A pulse ratemeter 40 connected in parallel with the scaler 6 is connected to threshold circuits 9A-10F which operate solenoids 10A-10F respectively when their respective values are reached. Each solenoid when operated displaces a plate member 12 to bring a different coloured band 20A-F of an inked ribbon 20 beneath the printer hammer 23. Thus when the counter 4 is moved relative to the body on couch 3 and paper 25 is moved at the same rate beneath ribbon 20 marks are made on the paper 25 whose closeness and colour depends on the radiation present in the body. A switch 41 is provided which prevents operation of the pointer magnet 8 unless solenoid 10A is closed.
