Abstract

947,148. Sprinkler-type closures. E. ILLING- WORTH & CO. Ltd. May 18, 1960 [Feb. 24, 1959], No. 6260/59. Heading B8T. In a sprinkler top a cap 1 is formed with a hollow boss 9 which snaps into a bush 11 formed in a neck portion 5, a bulbous part 9a on the boss seating under a bearing surface 12 on the bush 11. Sealing is obtained by engagement of the surface 15 of the inflexible top wall of the cap with the flexible top wall 6 of the neck 5. The cap is rotated to bring apertures 4, 8 in the cap and neck portion into alignment, movement being limited by abutments 13 on the cap engaging in slots 14 in the neck. The neck 5 is provided with a rib 7c which snaps under a flange in a container opening. In a modification the cap may be provided with a lateral extension which acts as a finger grip.
