A haymaking implement comprises a frame 1 supporting two arrays of raking tools 41, 35A of different types, the implement having a first working position in which both arrays work the crop in sequence and a second position in which the first array 41 alone works the crop, the second array being retained in an inoperative setting, or removed altogether. In a first construction (Fig. 1) a U-shaped part of the frame carries the first array, a series of rake-wheels 41. The second array comprises tines 37 on a driven shaft 35 carried by a frame 23, 25, 29 vertically adjustable in bearings 20, 21, 22 at the rear of the main frame 1, the shaft 35 being driven from the tractor through stub-shaft 48 and belts 46, 43 and being lockable in a raised, inoperative, position by a locking sector 52 and pin 54. The machine is mounted on three wheels 3, 4, 5 two of which are lockable swivel-wheels, and the third is a castor. In the first working position the device is drawn in the direction I by a drawbar 11 which is then attached to an arm 16 rigid with the swivel axle of the wheel 4. In this working position the rake-wheels 41 ted the crop and the spring tines 37 complete the tedding and spread the crop. In the second working position the drawbar occupies the position shown and the device is drawn in the direction III, the array 35A being raised; the rake-wheels 41 simply act as a side-delivery rake. In Fig. 3 the spring tines 75 are carried on a shaft 74 driven by a flexible drive 85 passing through the main frame-beam 61 and being connected by a telescopic, jointed, shaft 87 to the tractor. In this construction the second array is not raisable, but the tines can be set so as not to contact the ground. The rake-wheels 70 are movable into dotted positions 70a, for tedding. In Figs 5 and 6 the rake-wheels are carried on pendant arms 113 and are adjustable about vertical axes. The frame-part 111 which carries them is floatingly mounted, against the action of a spring 156, on the remainder of the frame 101 and can be locked in a raised position for transport (Fig. 9, not shown). The shaft 120 carrying the array 119 can be removed entirely, together with the mounting brackets 123, 124 in the second working arrangement. The first and second working arrangements correspond to traction in the directions 167, 170 respectively. In a modification (not illustrated) the spring-tine array may be driven from a ground-wheel or from a separate motor mounted on the implement. Specification 946,572 is referred to.
