Apparatus for continuously discharging granular &c. material from a closed hopper 12, Fig. 2, comprises an upwardly projecting air inlet tube 96 surrounded by a plurality of air inlet holes 66, Fig. 4, at the hopper base 64 and operating to direct the material upwardly into a discharge pipe 80 having its lower end 92 spaced above the hopper base 64. The lower end 92 of the discharge pipe may be flared and made telescopically adjustable. The air inlet holes 66 may be adjusted in size by rotation of an apertured plate 72.
