946,017. Reciprocating pumps and motors. HONDAILLE INDUSTRIES Inc. April 24, 1962, No. 15592/62. Heading F1A. A ported valve plate 24 is slidably mounted in a guide ring 65 and a valve housing 64 provided with inlet and outlet passages connected to the valve ports 91, 90. The ring 65 and valve plate 24 are urged into contact with the end face of a cylinder rotar by. separate springs and the valve plate 24 has balance pistons 80, 81 communicating through passages 84, 85 with the end face. In addition a balance chamber 68 is formed behind the valve plate 24 and communicates through a small annular gap 55<SP>1</SP> between the valve plate and ring 65, with the end face; the end face also has a groove 92 which is connected by a passage 93 to the chamber 68. A small leakage groove (89 not shown) connects the chamber 68 to the low pressure port.
