Abstract

945,325. Combine-harvesters. H. CLAAS. April 7, 1961 [April 8, 1960], No. 12559/61. Heading A1F. In a combine-harvester a winnowing fan 20 is provided adjacent to a separator 21, the fan rotor 30 extending lengthwise across the entire working width of the separator, and the fan having both inlet and outlet apertures which extend tangentially along the full length of the rotor. The separator is of the rotary type and comprises a bladed rotor 23 rotating within a perforated drum 21 in a chamber 26 and fed by an auger 22 coaxial with the rotor. The inlet opening 28 of the fan is formed in the top of the chamber 26 which is separated from the outlet 25 of the fan by the wall 32. The apparatus is mounted on the top of the combine (Fig. 1, not shown) where it is associated with an awner feeding into the auger 18.
